Every entrepreneur needs resources and support to thrive and flourish.
In particular, black entrepreneurs make invaluable contributions to their local communities every day. Their success is vital to Mississippi’s economy. Between February 2020 and May 2020, 41% of black-owned businesses in the U.S. closed their doors for good.
Mississippi SBDC wants to be a part of supporting their journey by providing resources and assistance as these entrepreneurs grow.
Mississippi SBDC has joined a nationwide SBDC initiative, called the Inclusivity Project, in an effort to empower entrepreneurs and small businesses as they build communities.
As a part of this challenge, we are committing to increasing business growth in Black and African American communities across the state of Mississippi.
What is our goal?
- To connect 500 Black entrepreneurs and Black-owned small businesses with mentorship opportunities and resources
- To fund $50 million dollars in small business financing
- To start 100 new Black Owned Businesses
